Raising Up Readers

What is it?  Raising Up Readers is a program partnering with the Wyandotte Public Schools to help improve their reading skills.

Who?  Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students who attend Wyandotte schools and need help improving their reading abilities.

What?  Raising Up Readers will help students work on their reading skills over a four-week session during the summer with the goal of helping them to maintain, and hopefully improve, their reading level.

When?  Choose one of two sessions:

· Session 1:  June 27, 29, July 6, 11, 13, 18, 20,  from 9-11:30 am

Registration deadline for Session 1 is June 13.

· Session 2:  July 25, 27, August 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17 from 9-11:30 am

Registration deadline for Session 2 is July 11.

There are only 35 slots per session available on a first come, first served basis.

Where?  Trinity Lutheran’s Community Building at 465 Oak Street.

Cost?  $40 per session.  There are scholarships available for students needing assistance which will lower the cost to $10 per session.

How do I sign up? Registration will open in March, call our church office at 734-282-5877 with any questions.

How can I help?  Donations are welcome, both of children's books or monetary donations. Contact the church office with any questions.

Can I volunteer?  Yes!  All volunteers will go through a training and require a background check.  If you are interested in volunteering contact Mendy Grenz at mgrenz@wyan.org.

After you have registered, you can click here to pay your fee, or you can bring it by Trinity's office Monday-Thursday 9am-2pm.  We are located at 465 Oak St. in Wyandotte.
